Seaford’s Santa House has been a part of local holiday tradition for more than 60 years. In that time, different organizations have operated the tiny building, with it being in the care of the Kiwanis Club of Seaford for more than a decade.
In recent years, the house has been at the corner of High and Cannon Streets in downtown Seaford starting the Sunday after the Christmas parade.
For many years the Kiwanis Club of Seaford has helped the City of Seaford with their annual Christmas parade. During the morning hours of the first Saturday in December, members stake out the line up locations for participants. Later, as the floats, bands, and marchers arrive, members help them find their appropriate spot. Then, at 7:00 PM, the Kiwanis Club gives the signal for the parade to begin!
The float the best captures the spirit of the Kiwanis International motto, “Serving the Children of the World,” receives the Kiwanis Tropy.
